NM Governor Applauds State’s Oil Industry

GOVERNOR LUJAN GRISHAM ON TUESDAY SPOKE AT THE ANNUAL NEW MEXICO OIL AND GAS ASSOCIATION MEETING, THANKING THE MEN AND WOMEN IN THE INDUSTRY OVER AND OVER FOR BUSINESS GROWTH THAT’S UNDERWRITING MAJOR STATE SPENDING INITIATIVES. THEY INCLUDE MORE FUNDS FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION, HEALTH CARE AND INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS. IT COULD ALSO POSSIBLY FUND THE GOVERNOR’S TUITION-FREE COLLEGE PROPOSAL FOR IN-STATE STUDENTS.

GOVERNOR LUJAN GRISHAM IS HOPING NEW MEXICO CAN OVERTAKE NORTH DAKOTA, CURRENTLY THE NUMBER-2 OIL PRODUCER IN THE COUNTRY.

MOST MEMBERS HAD LEFT THE MEETING WHEN U-S INTERIOR SECRETARY DAVID BERNHARDT SPOKE, WARNING THAT THE NEW GREEN DEAL FROM THE DEMOCRATS THREATENS THE OIL INDUSTRY’S LIVELIHOOD.
