APS Superintendent Announces Retirement

A SURPRISE ANNOUNCEMENT TUESDAY FROM RAQUEL REEDY. THE ALBUQUERQUE PUBLIC SCHOOLS SUPERINTENDENT SAYS SHE’LL RETIRE AT THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. REEDY’S CONTRACT ENDS NEXT JUNE 30TH.

THE SCHOOL BOARD SAYS IT WILL BEGIN A SEARCH TO IDENTIFY CANDIDATES INTERESTED IN THE SUPERINTENDENT’S POSITION.

AFTER A SEVEN MONTH INTERIM APPOINTMENT, REEDY TOOK OVER AS SUPERINTENDENT IN APRIL OF 2016. SHE SAYS SHE’S ANNOUNCING HER RETIREMENT NOW TO ALLOW ADEQUATE TIME TO ORGANIZE A SEARCH FOR A REPLACEMENT.
