Santa Fe Teen Facing Charges in Man’s Death

FOR THE SECOND TIME, A SANTA FE TEENAGER HAS BEEN CHARGED IN LAST YEAR’S SHOOTING DEATH OF A MAN WALKING HIS DOG ALONG AIRPORT ROAD. THE CHARGE AGAINST ZACHARY GUTIERREZ WAS DROPPED LAST NOVEMBER BY D-A MARCO SERNA, WHO SAID HE DIDN’T HAVE ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO PRESENT THE CASE TO A GRAND JURY BEFORE A DECEMBER DEADLINE. THE SANTA FE NEW MEXICAN REPORTS THE D-A’S OFFICE INTENDS TO SEEK ADULT SANCTIONS AGAINST GUTIERREZ, WHO WAS 17 WHEN RICHARD MILAN OF MICHIGAN WAS SHOT TWICE AFTER CONFRONTING A GROUP OF TEENAGERS. GUTIERREZ ALSO FACES A CHARGE OF EVIDENCE TAMPERING.
