Suspect in Missing Girl Case Released

MORE THAN TWO DAYS AFTER SHE DISAPPEARED FROM HER HOME IN ESPANOLA, THERE’S STILL NO SIGN OF FIVE YEAR OLD RENEZMAE CALZADA. THE FBI’S FRANK FISHER SAYS A NEWS CONFERENCE THAT WAS TO BE HELD TUESDAY AFTERNOON IN ESPANOLA TO PROVIDE AN UPDATE WAS CANCELLED. HE SAYS AUTHORITIES ARE STILL LOOKING FOR THE GIRL, AND ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IS ASKED TO CALL THE RIO ARRIBA COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE.

A POSSIBLE SUSPECT IN RENEZMAE’S DISAPPEARANCE WAS ARRESTED SUNDAY NIGHT ON OUTSTANDING WARRANTS OUT OF BERNALILLO COUNTY, BUT THAT PERSON HAS NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED AND HE’S NOW BEEN RELEASED.

THE RIO ARRIBA COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE SAYS IT’S INVESTIGATING WHY IT TOOK MORE THAN EIGHT HOURS FOR THE GIRL’S MOTHER TO REPORT HER MISSING SUNDAY.
