Former UNM Athletic Director In-and-Out of Jail

FORMER UNM ATHLETIC DIRECTOR PAUL KREBS SPENT A FEW HOURS IN JAIL TUESDAY AFTER HE GAVE HIMSELF UP TO POLICE SINCE HE WAS INDICTED LAST MONTH. HE’S CHARGED WITH SEVEN CRIMINAL COUNTS THAT INCLUDE EMBEZZLEMENT AND TAX FRAUD CONNECTED TO A UNIVERSITY GOLF TRIP TO SCOTLAND. IT FOLLOWS HIM SPENDING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON TAXPAYERS’ DIME FOR HIM, HIS FAMILY AND A FORMER COACH TO GO TO SCOTLAND.

HE WAS LATER RELEASED FROM THE METRO DETENTION CENTER. THE CHARGES AGAINST HIM COULD RESULT IN HIM DOING 16 YEARS IN PRISON.
