Wolf Death Investigation

WILDLIFE MANAGERS ARE TRYING TO DETERMINE HOW AN ENDANGERED MEXICAN GRAY WOLF DIED. THE WOLF WAS A MEMBER OF THE WHITEWATER CANYON PACK WHICH HAS BEEN ROAMING IN NEW MEXICO’S GILA NATIONAL FOREST. IT WAS FOUND DEAD LAST MONTH. AT LEAST 131 WOLVES ARE BELIEVED TO BE LIVING IN THE MOUNTAIN RANGES IN SOUTHWESTERN NEW MEXICO AND SOUTHEASTERN ARIZONA. SEVEN WOLVES WERE REPORTED DEAD BETWEEN JANUARY AND JUNE.
