HE BELIEVES HE CAN TURN NEW MEXICO’S EDUCATION SYSTEM AROUND. RYAN STEWART, THE EDUCATION SECRETARY-DESIGNATE FOR NEW MEXICO, WAS OUT IN SOME OF THE SCHOOLS THIS WEEK, CHECKING OUT THE STUDENTS AND SEEKING HOW TEACHERS WORK WITH THEM.

HE VISITED BELEN HIGH SCHOOL, GARFIELD MIDDLE SCHOOL WITH GOVERNOR LUJAN GRISHAM, AND THE NATIVE AMERICAN COMMUNITY ACADEMY IN ALBUQUERQUE. HE TELLS KKOB TV HIS FIRST MONTHS IN NEW MEXICO WILL GET HIM OUT AND TALKING WITH PRINCIPALS AND SUPERINTENDENTS AS WELL AS FINDING OUT WHAT WORKS IN THE CLASSROOM.
