Mayors Meet to See Detentions in El Paso

ALBUQUERQUE MAYOR TIM KELLER IS AMONG THE GROUP OF MAYORS VISITING EL PASO TO GET A BETTER IDEA OF THE IMMIGRATION CRISIS ALONG THE BORDER. KELLER AND THE OTHER MAYORS WERE ABLE TO SEE THE SITUATION IN PERSON AND MET WITH HOMELAND SECURITY SECRETARY KEVIN MCALEENAN ON THURSDAY.

DURING A NEWS CONFERENCE IN EL PASO, KELLER SAID MORE FUNDING IS NEEDED FOR IMMIGRATION AS IT STANDS RIGHT NOW. HE SAYS THE ADDITIONAL MONEY HAS TO GO TOWARD THE COURTS AND JUDGES AND PROCESSING IMMIGRANT CHALLENGES. THE MAYORS ARE ALSO ASKING THAT TRAFFIC OF THE IMMIGRANTS AT THE BORDER BE SPED UP.
