Getting Ready To Chill

ONE OF THE MOST HIGHLY ANTICIPATED EXHIBITS IN THE HISTORY OF THE ALBUQUERQUE BIOPARK ZOO WILL OPEN IN ABOUT A MONTH. THE CITY HAS ANNOUNCED THAT THE RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY FOR THE PENGUIN CHILL EXHIBIT WILL BE ON TUESDAY, JULY 23RD AT 9:30 AM. THE EXHIBIT IS HOME TO 31 BIRDS, INCLUDING GENTOO, MACARONI AND KING PENGUINS,WHICH ARRIVED IN LATE MAY AND EARLY JUNE. TO ACCLIMATE THE PENGUINS TO HUMAN VISITORS BEFORE OPENING DAY, THE ZOO PLANS TO SLOWLY INTRODUCE THEM TO INCREASINGLY LARGE NUMBERS OF PEOPLE INCLUDING ZOO STAFF AND MEMBERS OF THE NEW MEXICO BIOPARK SOCIETY.
