NBC Universal Tops Council Agenda

NBC UNIVERSAL’S INCENTIVE PACKAGE IS ON THE AGENDA AT MONDAY NIGHT’S ALBUQUERQUE CITY COUNCIL MEETING. COUNCILORS WILL VOTE ON WHETHER TO PROVIDE THE PACKAGE SO UNIVERSAL CAN BUILD A STUDIO IN ALBUQUERQUE.

THE CITY WOULD CHIP IN 3 MILLION DOLLARS IN ADDITION TO THE 7-POINT-7 MILLION COMING FROM THE STATE. IF IT’S APPROVED, NBC UNIVERSAL WOULD THEN COMMITS TO DO BUSINESS IN ALBUQUERQUE FOR A DECADE.

COUNCILOR KEN SANCHEZ SAYS HE HOPES IT GETS THE COUNCIL’S VOTE. IF ALL GOES WELL, IT’LL OPEN UP 300 NEW JOBS IN THE CITY WITH WORKERS EARNING AN AVERAGE OF 60-THOUSAND DOLLARS A YEAR.
