Illegal Immigrant Entries Still Up in NM

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS CONTINUE TO POUR ACROSS THE BORDER IN SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO. THE U.S. BORDER PATROL SAYS A GROUP OF MORE THAN 250 PEOPLE WERE APPREHENDED LAST WEDNESDAY NEAR THE ANTELOPE WELLS PORT OF ENTRY IN THE REMOTE NEW MEXICO BOOT HEEL. THE DAY BEFORE, ANOTHER GROUP OF MORE THAN 250 CROSSED THE RIO GRANDE IN EL PASO AND WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY.

THE BORDER PATROL SAYS BOTH GROUPS WERE COMPRISED PRIMARILY OF FAMILIES AND UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN FROM CENTRAL AMERICA.
