Closing Arguments in Lymon Trial

THE JUDGE RULES NO MISTRIAL FOR DAVON LYMON’S MURDER TRIAL IN ALBUQUERQUE. LYMON IS ACCUSED OF KILLING APD OFFICER DANIEL WEBSTER IN OCTOBER OF 2015 AND WAS CALLED BACK ON THE STAND THURSDAY FOR CROSS EXAMINATION BY THE PROSECUTION.

LYMON CONTINUED TO SAY HE SHOT WEBSTER IN SELF DEFENSE AFTER SEEING WEBSTER AND OTHER OFFICERS MOVING TOWARD HIM. HE SAID HE THOUGHT THEY’D SHOOT HIM BECAUSE HE’S BLACK. THE PROSECUTION RAISED THE QUESTION OF ANOTHER STATEMENT BY LYMON THAT HE DID NOT SHOOT WEBSTER. THEY ALSO SHOWED VIDEO FROM WEBSTER’S LAPEL CAMERA THAT SHOWED WEBSTER WAS NO LONGER HOLDING HIS GUN.

THE COURTROOM WILL HEAR CLOSING ARGUMENTS ON FRIDAY.
