Shooting On I-25 Was Not Road Rage

ALBUQUERQUE POLICE HAVE IDENTIFIED A MAN SHOT AND KILLED SUNDAY AFTERNOON DURING WHAT WAS THOUGHT TO BE A ROAD RAGE INCIDENT ON I-25 IN ALBUQUERQUE ON SUNDAY. APD HAS CONFIRMED IT WAS NOT ROAD RAGE SHOOTING.

THE SHOOTING HAPPENED AROUND 5PM ON A SHOULDER OF I-25 AT AN ON-RAMP NEAR MONTANO … AND A MAN, NOW IDENTIFIED AS 27 YEAR OLD JAMES PORTER, DIED AS A RESULT OF THE SHOOTING. OFFICERS FOUND THE VICTIM NEXT TO THE DRIVER’S SIDE DOOR OF A BLUE FORD SEDAN WHEN THEY ARRIVED ON SCENE.

APD IS ASKING WITNESSES TO COME FORWARD IF THEY HAVE MORE INFORMATION. TWO MEN WHO WERE AT THE SCENE WERE DETAINED AND QUESTIONED.
