Recreational Marijuana Bill Still Alive

A BILL THAT WOULD MAKE RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA LEGAL IN NEW MEXICO IS ADVANCING AT THE LEGISLATURE. HOUSE BILL 356 WAS SENT TO THE HOUSE HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE ON SATURDAY. THE BILL WOULD REGULATE USING, PRODUCING AND SELLING PRODUCTS MADE FROM CANNABIS TO PEOPLE OVER 21 YEARS OLD.

ONE OF THE MEASURE’S SPONSORS, REPRESENTATIVE JAVIER MARTINEZ, SAYS THE BILL MAKES WAY FOR RECREATIONAL POT WHILE PROTECTING MEDICAL MARIJUANA PATIENTS AND HAS PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY PROVISION.. MARTINEZ SAYS THE BILL ALSO MAKES ADVANCES IN SOCIAL JUSTICE FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR AND THOSE WITH LOW INCOMES.
