Former NM Senator Loses Home to Fire

THE HUGE HOME OF A FORMER NEW MEXICO SENATOR IS DESTROYED BY FIRE. MANNY ARAGON’S HOME NEAR 2ND STREET AND RIO BRAVO THAT LOOKED LIKE A CASTLE IS NO MORE … BUT LUCKILY, NO ONE WAS HOME AT THE TIME OF THE FIRE. THE FIRE BROKE OUT WEDNESDAY NIGHT. THE HOUSE HAD TWO BEDROOMS, ENORMOUS BATHROOMS, AND NO KITCHEN.

THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IS STILL INVESTIGATING THE FIRE.

ARAGON WAS FOUND GUILTY OF DEFRAUDING NEW MEXICO OUT OF MORE THAN 4 MILLION DOLLARS IN CONNECTION WITH CONSTRUCTION OF THE BERNALILLO COUNTY METRO COURTHOUSE. HE SERVED TIME IN PRISON AND THEN DID HOME CONFINEMENT AT THE HOUSE WHEN HE GOT OUT OF PRISON IN 2013.
