NM Gubernatorial Candidates Push for Compensation

THE REPUBLICAN AND DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES FOR NEW MEXICO GOVERNOR SAY THEY WANT DESCENDANTS OF FAMILIES WHO LIVED NEAR THE TRINITY TEST SITE TO GET COMPENSATION FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. STEVE PEARCE AND MICHELLE LUJAN GRISHAM SAID THIS WEEK THAT, AS GOVERNOR, THEY WOULD CONTINUE TO ADVOCATE FOR COMPENSATION.

DESCENDANTS SAY THE TRINITY TEST IN 1945 CAUSED GENERATIONS OF SOUTHERN NEW MEXICANS TO SUFFER FROM RARE FORMS OF CANCER.
