NM Monsoons Expected to “Firm Up”

MONSOON SEASON IN NEW MEXICO HAS BEEN PRETTY HIT-OR-MISS SO FAR THIS SUMMER. BUT THAT COULD BE ABOUT TO CHANGE. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGIST CHUCK JONES SAYS A SURGE OF MOISTURE IS EXPECTED TO COME INTO THE STATE FROM OLD MEXICO LATER IN THE WEEK: HE SAYS IT’LL BE THE FIRST TIME WHEN NEW MEXICO’S MONSOON MOISTURE WILL COME FROM OLD MEXICO.

JONES SAYS STARTING WEDNESDAY, THERE WILL BE WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS MOST OF NEW MEXICO.

DESPITE RECENT RAIN, ALBUQUERQUE’S OFFICIAL TOTAL THIS YEAR IS STILL MORE THAN INCH BELOW WHERE IT SHOULD BE.
