Keller to Check Out San Antonio Homeless Campus

ALBUQUERQUE MAYOR TIM KELLER IS IN SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS, ON TUESDAY TO LEARN ABOUT THAT CITY’S HOMELESS INITIATIVE. WHILE THERE, KELLER WILL VISIT THE 22-ACRE HOMELESS CAMPUS KNOWN AS THE “HAVEN FOR HOPE.” THOSE WHO LIVE ON CAMPUS ARE PROVIDED WITH A HOST OF RESOURCES THAT ENABLE THEM TO GET BACK ON THEIR FEET. “HAVEN FOR HOPE” IS A 100-MILLION DOLLAR HOMELESS CENTER BUILT IN 2010.

OFFICIALS THERE SAY THE CENTER HAS HELPED MORE THAN 4-THOUSAND HOMELESS PEOPLE GET OFF THE STREETS. THEY SAY ADDRESSING THE ROOT CAUSE OF A PERSON’S HOMELESS SITUATION SET THE PROGRAM APART.

KELLER IS IN SAN ANTONIO TO SEE WHAT HE CAN LEARN FROM WHAT WAS DONE THERE. HE’LL ALSO MEET WITH COMMUNITY LEADERS.
