Commissioners Consider Fireworks Ban

YOU’LL PROBABLY HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR PLANS IF YOU WANT TO SET OF FIREWORKS IN BERNALILLO COUNTY OVER THE 4TH OF JULY HOLIDAY. THE COUNTY COMMISSION HAS ITS WEEKLY MEETING TUESDAY AND IS EXPECTED TO CONSIDER A FIREWORKS BAN IN UNINCORPORATED PARTS OF BERNALILLO COUNTY.

THE ALBUQUERQUE JOURNAL REPORTS THAT BAN WOULD COVER AERIAL SPINNERS, MISSILE-STYLE ROCKETS, HELICOPTERS, STICK ROCKETS AND GROUND AUDIBLE DEVICES. THE BAN COULD ALSO LIMIT USING SMOKE DEVICES IN AREAS THAT ARE UNPAVED OR BARREN. A PERMANENT BAN IS ALREADY IN PLACE FOR AERIAL AND GROUND AUDIBLE DEVICES.

THERE’S ALREADY A COMMISSION-ORDERED BAN ON CAMPFIRES, OPEN FIRES, AND SMOKING.
